COUCH POTATO - someone who spends a lot of time watching television
MOUSE POTATO - someone who spends a lot of time in front of the computer

Hmmm... Well then, instead of the usual "bookworm" or "book lover," why not call a person who spends a lot of time reading books a "BOOK POTATO"? Yes, book potato. That's what I am. And this blog, The Book Potato, is the product of my love for reading books.

After I learned how to read, I never stopped reading since then. During grade school, I wouldn't go home without passing by the library just to read fairy tale books. Also, a week after receiving the school textbooks, I was done reading all of them. I also spent long hours reading comic books. I was in fifth grade when I tried reading the entire Bible. Then, when my late grandma had allowed me to read romance novels (I wouldn't disclose when. Clue: too early), that was the time when I started becoming a zombie as I managed staying up for 24 hours just to finish a novel.

I started reading relationship and inspirational books three years ago after breaking up with an ex (Please don't ask why I chose reading those kinds of books, it's pretty obvious. Smile). But it was last year, after reading The Secret and The Success Principles, that I discovered the wonders of reading non-fiction books. Since then, I became voracious in reading non-fiction books: self-help, business, success, inspirational, motivational, relationship, etc.

While this blog's main focus is on doing book reviews, through my stories of how certain books changed my life after applying the principles I've learned from them, I'm hoping that this blog will also be a source of inspiration to all its readers.

Be blessed always,
Zhayne
